Today, 25 October 2009, Digital Theatre launches its website, where high definition downloadable theatre productions of work from leading British theatre companies will be made available from their website for £8.99. These productions are there to download and keep, viewed through the specially developed Digital Theatre Player, compatible with all major browsers and operating systems.

Our aim is to make Digital Theatre the focal point for theatre-based entertainment online. DigitalTheatre.com is a growing site, that will act as a vibrant source of information and content, providing continued enjoyment for traditional theatre goers as well as bringing great theatrical works to a wider audience

The first offering on the site is English Touring Theatre`s Far From The Madding Crowd, a new adaptation by Mark Healy from Thomas Hardy, directed by Kate Saxon.

Trailers of forthcoming productions are available to view on the website, as well as more detail about the theatres involved.
