Digital Theatre are currently collaborating with the British Council Middle East, the Qatar Ministry of Culture Arts and Heritage and the Centre for Cultural Development (CDC) at the Qatar Foundation.
The collaboration centres on a programme "New Work New Audiences" that supports innovation in the cultural sectors of the Middle East and the UK, providing more people the opportunity to experience the arts.
The program included a workshop run by Robert Delamere and Tom Shaw from Digital Theatre, where 22 young talented and creative youth from Qatar acquired new skills in cutting edge techniques in digital theatre production.
Participants also shadowed the Digital Theatre team whilst preparing, shooting and editing the annual GCC Youth Theatre Events held at the National Theatre, Doha.
The GCC Youth Theatre productions included groups from Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
The productions will be presented in Arabic with English subtitles and will be available to all audiences for free on www.digitaltheatre.com from December 2010.
More information about the GCC Youth Theatre productions can be found at facebook.com/gulfstage and twitter.com/gulfstage.
