'You... Me... The Human...' is the UK premiere screening of an award-winning theatre production from Qatar, captured by Digital Theatre and presented at the ICA on Friday 15 July at 4pm.

 

The production forms part of Gulf Stage, a new innovative project launched in January that breaks new ground for the theatre industry by bringing Arabic performances to a world stage online and for free. The project is the result of a unique partnership between the British Council, the UK's leading cultural relations organisation, and Digital Theatre, a new London-based company who specialise in capturing quality performance authentically onscreen.

 

This screening takes place as part of Shubbak, the capital's first ever celebration of contemporary culture from across the Arab world presented by The Mayor of London: www.london.gov.uk/shubbak.

 

This event includes a behind-the-scenes documentary and a panel discussion with Gulf Stage's creative team. The film and panel will explore pertinent issues including: what kind of theatre are young artists in the Arab world making and how are they voicing their hopes, thoughts and concerns?
