Created by Crystal Pite and Jonathon Young, Revisor reworks the comic plot of Nikolai Gogol’s The Government Inspector as the basis for a contemporary dance and theatre piece. Captured live at Sadler’s Wells in 2020, this hybrid work explores conflict, comedy, and corruption in the potent relationship between language and the body. The Guardian gave the production 5 stars, calling it a ‘riveting piece.’

Clowns

Commissioned by the BBC and captured live at Battersea Arts Centre in 2018, Clowns is a bold and sarcastic commentary on society's ever-growing indifference to violence. Directed, choreographed and composed by Hofesh Shechter, this macabre comedy features ten world-class dancers and a striking percussive score, inviting viewers to ponder how far we will go in the name of entertainment.

The Red Shoes

Matthew Bourne’s double Olivier award-winning ballet The Red Shoes tells a spellbinding tale of obsession, possession and one girl’s dream to be the greatest dancer in the world. Victoria Page lives to pursue artistic greatness as a dancer, but her ambitions become a battleground for the entangled relationships that drive her dreams. Based on Powell and Pressburger’s film of the same name, Matthew Bourne’s signature artistry creates a fresh, entrancing and heartbreaking adaptation, featuring Bernard Herrmann’s rich score. The Red Shoes was captured live at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in 2020.

Cinderella

An American in Paris

Featuring classic songs such as “‘S Wonderful” and “I Got Rhythm”, this Tony Award-winning Broadway musical tells the story of a chance encounter between an American GI and a young dancer on the streets of Paris. Captured during its West End run at the Dominion Theatre in 2017, this production combines the iconic music and lyrics of George and Ira Gershwin with breathtaking choreography.

The Sleeping Beauty

One of the most popular classical ballets, Marius Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty is performed by the Royal Ballet on the occasion of the Company's 75th anniversary.

The Nutcracker

This all-time ballet favourite reaches its 25th anniversary in Peter Wright's glorious production. When one of her Christmas presents comes to life, Young Clara is swept into a fantasy adventure where she meets an exquisite Sugar Plum Fairy, a chivalrous Prince and the mysterious Drosselmeyer amongst a whole host of classic characters, performed by the world-renowned Royal Ballet.

Sylvia

Darcey Bussell and Roberto Bolle star in Frederick Ashton's Sylvia, restored to the splendour of its elegant and opulent three-act form for the 75th anniversary celebrations of The Royal Ballet. With origins in Greek mythology, Sylvia was loved by Aminta, abducted by Orion and eventually rescued by Eros.

Swan Lake

Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov choreograph Tchaikovsky's timeless story of good against evil, in the greatest of Romantic ballets. Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful woman he is instantly captivated – will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under?

DV8 - Dead Dreams of Monochrome Men

Loosely based on the acts of serial killer Dennis Nilsen, this dance theatre piece by DV8 Physical Theatre explores the forces of societal homophobia and what drove Nilsen to kill for company. Created and performed by Lloyd Newson, Nigel Charnock, Russell Maliphant and Douglas Wright, this 1989 film is an emotionally raw look at lust and loneliness.
